Eating 6 Meals a day

So I just wanted to write a blog post about eating every 2-4 hours. Now this may come to a shock to most of you but myself, my client & healthy individuals do eat up to 6-8x daily! Now there not huge meals but instead small, portioned meals including some carb, fat & protein.

Why do we eat so consistently?

- eating every 2-4 hours having 6 meals a day allows for blood sugar control also aids and the anabolic/catabolic hormonal profile can be improved by feeding frequently.

- to control insulin levels & keep blood glucose level constant throughout the day.

- avoid eating over calorie intake for the day

what to eat every 2-4 hours?

I try to focus on a protein with every single meal this allows for protein turnover & thermic effect

so for example:

meal 1: (6:00am) 3 egg whites + 2 whole eggs + 1/2 cup of oatmeal + 4-6 strawberries

meal 2: (9:00am) 1 scoop of protein ( I use nutrishop Hydro-pro or Forza-pro) + 1 apple + 1/2 tbs of peanut butter ( or 1 quest bar)

meal 3: (11:30 am) 3 oz chicken breast + 160 grams ( or 10) brussle sprouts + 2-3 oz sweet potato

Meal 4: (2:30 pm) 1 scoop of protein + 1-2 tbs of peanut butter + celery

meal 5: (5:30 pm) 4 oz lean meat + 3-4 cups of broccalli + 5 oz red potato

meal 6: 5 egg whites + 1 whole egg + 1 cup of mushrooms & onions & peppers

So here is my typical meals for the day. They vary depending on if I do a low, high or moderate carb/ fat day. But overall I do aim to eat every 2-4 hours. After a while your body will start adjusting to the eating every 2-4 hours & you'll be in more in tune when you blood sugar starts to dip.

Now when I do start working with clients, my biggest complaint from clients when they start working with me is: I am so full & I AM EATING SO MUCH! but guess what happens after 1 week of eating too much... they lose weight or body fat! They are allowing there body the nutrients and calories it needs so it can burn FAT!
